Homebuyers encouraged to purchase houses for sale in the north

People have been encouraged to buy houses for sale in the north
after a survey revealed that its seaside towns provide the most
affordable properties.
The Halifax Seaside Town Quality of Life report stated that
Yorkshire's Bridlington, Withernsea and Hornsea were found to be
the best places in the country for homebuyers looking to live
beside the sea.
This is because, out of the coastal towns, these areas do not come
with a "hefty price tag".
"For homebuyers who dream of 'being beside the seaside' there are
good value hotspots where you don't compromise on the standard of
living," Nitesh Patel, housing economist at Halifax, said.
It was added that homes in southern seaside towns are very
expensive to buy and that the south-west remains "the most
unaffordable region".
As well as being inexpensive, it was found that these seaside
towns, in addition to Scotland's Peterhead and Fraserburgh, offered
homebuyers a good quality of life.
This report comes despite Timothy Lambert, head of consulting at
Ducalian, saying houses in the north are more "susceptible" to the
fragile economy than the property market in the south.
